Chapter 55 -Gary and Libby

"You gonna tell me what all that was about then?" I murmur so as not to wake Ethan. The three of us are curled up on the settee, Ethan, having lost his battle with over tiredness after the third episode of Postman Pat, sleeps soundly in Gary's lap, head lolled back against the arm of the settee, arms hanging limply by his sides. Gary turns his head ever so slightly, regarding me with an amused gaze, eyebrows flickering towards his hairline the way they always do. "What about?" " I cant tell you.. " I drawl, doing my best, and still failing dismally, to mimic his voice. " Its a surprise.. " Gary laughs, a genuine, cathartic, head-thrown-back laugh, but regains composure quickly when Ethan stirs in his lap, two sleepy green eyes revealing themselves. We curse in unison, both of us cussing under our breath. "Ill take him up." I urge softly, standing before the toddler is fully awake again. "Ill take him if you want?" Gar...

Chapter 54- Gary and Libby

Before i even open my eyes, the easy thrumming of my muscles reminds me of the antics of the night before. I stretch with stiff limbs beneath the covers, and my muscles whine in protest as the kinks knotting my spine slip away one by one. "Hey." Opening one eye, i roll onto my back to find Gary smiling down at me, elbow bent, resting on the pillow, supporting his head and looking bright eyed and bushy tailed as ever. The Blackberry he holds across his chest is discarded quickly when he turns and slips it onto the bed side table. "Sleep well?" He cranes his neck to kiss the corner of my lips, the fingers of the hand formerly holding the Blackberry, pushing my hair back from my shoulders. I nod, smiling, but too stated with sex and sleep to speak. Gary smiles back, the shy smile, the one that is only reserved for Ethan and myself, and my heart skips a beat. "You look like an angel like this." Gary tips his chin towards my hair, and i can feel it, fa...

Chapter 53- Gary and Libby

Garys lips find mine and move hungrily, leaving no room for oxygen. This kiss was not gentle, it was neither sweet nor tender. Instead, it was hot, flush with burning desire and an urgency that was all too familiar, yet, at the same time, this kiss was not bereft of love, or passion, in fact, as Gary's lips move over my own, tongue taunting my bottom lip away from my top, it tastes of a kiss of almost too much love, too much passion. The kind of kiss that, as always with this man, leaves me weak at the knees. And then his hands are everywhere, restlessly flexing and groping at whatever piece of flesh happens to be under his palm at the very moment. With little will to succeed, i brace my hands against his still damp shoulders, feeling the burn of his skin against my own because he always has the water that little bit too hot. "Gary-" I pry my lips from his just long enough to croak his name when the backs of my knees hit the bed. "Ssh." Garys lips are at the ...

Chapter 52 -Gary and Libby

"Babe.." Go away. "Lib, Love." Go away. "Come on Love." I groan, loudly, when the disturbance finally manages to pull me from my slumber. "What?" I croak, eyes screwed shut, voice thick with sleep. I hear Gary laugh, a low laugh of self amusement, one arm moving under my neck, the other under my thighs. It only takes me thirty seconds to realise that ive fallen asleep on the settee and my neck throbs gently as a punishment. "Bed time, i think. Don't you?" With eyes still closed, i stretch two arms, linking my fingers at the back of Garys neck as he scoops me up, bridal style. A chilly breeze causes me to shiver as the blanket slips away, and Gary, much to my delight, pulls me closer. "What time is it?" I mumble, asking because i feel like i should say something as a posed to actually wanting to know. "Half seven." "What?!" Suddenly, im wide awake. Half seven?! Fuck me, ive been out for a whole ...

Chapter 51 -Gary and Libby

“Hey, hey, hey-Oi.!” Gary catches my wrist between slender fingers as I round the corner into the living room.  “Whats wrong?” I sniff, willing myself desperately to pull myself together. “Nothing.” “Im not stupid,” I sense the frown forming between Garys brows as he speaks. “You had a face like a smacked arse in there. How can I help you if you wont tell me what the matter is?” “There's nothing the matter.” Chewing mindlessly on my thumb nail, I reluctantly allow Gary to take a step closer, the gentle yet earnestly discontent  hum emerging from his lips as his right eyebrow flickers above the left, prompting me to confined in him. I succumb, sagging against the door frame, head back against the wood as i move my gaze to the ceiling and fix it there, above my head, hoping that maybe the tears brimming at my lids will roll back into my skull. When Gary shifts a little to stand in front of me, i open my mouth. “He likes you so much.” For a moment, Gary doesn’t say...

Chapter 50 -Gary and Libby

Gary hums, satisfied when i pull away, his roaming hands coming to rest restlessly against my hips, his fingers flexing in and out of the flesh. My lips quip into a smile. "Feeling better?" Gary smiles too, "I dont know.." A pink flash of tongue skims his lower lip before disappearing again. "I might need another kiss." "Youre shameless, you know that dont you?" I smile, my thumb mindlessly outlining the shell of his ear. Gary grins up at me, leaning into my caress with a barely there sigh. "Cant help it." Gazing through his lashes, his bottom lip catches between his teeth, -only momentarily, but long enough for me to know it was intentional. I lean closer, yet another wave of water sloshing over the side and soaking everything and anything left stupidly on the floor. "Good." My fingers climb upwards, tugging gently at the longer strands of hair above Garys temple as i lean forwards, running my nose down the length of his...

Chapter 49 -Gary and Libby

I don't know how long we've been lying there in relevant comfort with Gary wrapped around my midsts when I finally muster the will power to break the tranquil silence. "Are you sure you don't need to go to a doctor?"  Silence.  I dip my head down onto the mattress and tug gently at his ear lobe with my left hand. "Gaz?" Silence.  Sighing, I flop back, wrapping my arms around the broad shoulders and clutching him to me. There's a small hum of appreciation but other than that, Gary doesn't speak.  "Gary." I'm reluctant to wake him up, but I give his shoulder a gentle shake non the less. His lips emit a sound somewhere between a grunt and a curse, pressing his nose against my cleavage and nuzzling. "What?" Making an attempt to pull his face up to look at me, I run my thumb over his cheekbone. "I'm worried about you. You're never ill." "Im fine." The croak of his voice betrays the s...
