Chapter 43 -Gary and Libby

I sit with Luke, and a strong mug of black coffee, around my dining room table, sifting through an uncountable amount of papers. Its getting on for ten and we chat as we work, the reassuring gurgle from Ethans baby monitor lessening the potentially harsh silence each time we fall quiet. "This is obscene." Luke lets out a disgruntled sigh, throwing his Biro down and watching it drown in the sea of documentation. Nodding in agreement, my eyes slipping in and out of focus, my exhaustion gripping me, as i glance up at the clock. 10.07pm  Gary should be back any minute. From whatever gig hes doing tonight. Hes been out so much lately and im sick of being on my own, and so now im sat here, half asleep and working with Luke at ten past ten on a Tuesday. "Maybe we should call it a night?" I offer, quietly eager to get Luke gone so i can go to bed, but right on cue, the baby monitor broadcasts a shrill scream from my sleeping son, preventing me from hearing my desired a...

Chapter 42 -Gary and Libby

"Ethan, i think mummy and daddy are back." I hear the muffled voice of Clara, the baby sitter as Gary stands outside the front door, fishing for the keys in a coat pocket, one hand instantly wrapped around my waist. "You know," I raise a wry eyebrow. "You could probably get at them better if you let go of me." Gary stops fidgeting immediately and looks up at me deadpan."I dont want to let go of you. Do you want me to let go of you?" His fingers drum rhythmically against my hip as his arm tightens around me. Its very distracting. Warily, i shake my head, smiling slowly when Gary abandons the search for the keys and instead snakes both of his hands around my body. "Youre very clinging all of a sudden.." My tone is inquisitive, cocking my head to one side as i slip my hand into the back pocket of Garys black jeans and pull out the keys. But he merely shrugs a satisfied shrug in response, planting a seconds smacking kiss against my mouth...

Chapter 41- Gary and Libby

I drop down into my office chair for the first time in a year, the familiar squeak greets me, and i smile because they havent fixed it. "Hiya Libby!" Amanda beams as she pops her red head around my door. "Its good to see you back at last!" I laugh in response, shrugging my jacket onto the back of my chair. "Thanks Amanda, its good to see you too." "Hows your dad?" My smile fades. Ive come back to work to take my mind off all of that, not talk about it. "Getting better i think." I force a tight smile to send the message loud and clear. "Thanks." Amanda nods, "Im glad, ill let you settle in. If you need anything just give me a shout." I smile again. "Thanks." "Oh, but before i go," Amanda clears her throat, pushing my door open a little wider. "Ill introduce you to Luke." A tall man with olive skin and dark, dark hair stands warmly in the doorway. "Hello, Miss O'Regan, ri...

Chapter 40 -Gary and Libby

I lie under the covers, my body aching, still begging for it's denied relief. I can barely move. "Gary." I whine once more, suppressing the threat of frustrated tears. "Please." Gary merely smiles contented and slides into bed next to me. "Go to sleep Libby." "How can you expect me to sleep like this?!" I ask, almost astonished. The desire for the much needed relief pools hot and ready deep inside my abdomen, and I squirm unhappily under its wrath. "Please." I beg. And my body begs too. My ass still hurts from the spanking. My wrists are bruised from the restraints, my knees red from where Gary had me on my knees, my throat dry from the desperatee scream as his fingers teased me and his tongue taunted and still he dined any relief. I'm desperate. Gently, and with a new found tranquillity,  Gary leans over and plants a delicate kiss against my temple. "Night baby." "Gary!" But my protest is silenced ...

Chapter 39-Gary and Libby

"Gary, get off." I writhe against him as im forced into the bedroom, but Garys insidious grip on my arm does not loosen. "Get off!" I wine once more, louder this time, adamant. This time, Gary concedes, launching me forward so i stagger to the bed, grumbling my distaste under my breath. He can be so rough. "Get on the bed." Garys electric green gaze pins me to the spot, and for a moment im confused. "Im not going to sleep-" "No Libby." Comes the growled response and Gary turns his back from me and begins to fiddle around in the wardrobe. "Youve already made that clear, so do as i god damn say and get on the bed." Swallowing hard, i do as he asks. I dont even try to ignore the pooling heat in my abdomen. Its only going to get worse. Gary still has his back to me, so i take it as an opportunity to unfasten a few of the buttons on my blouse, i go to kick off my heels when he stops me. "Shoes on." Gary spins to fac...

Chapter 38 -Gary and Libby

This chapter is a bit short, so sozzles, but i didnt want cram all the action for the next one into the end of this one... "You did well in there.." Gary half whispers as we make our way back across the car park after hours of sitting around a hospital bed waiting for nothing to happen. I smile weakly in response, almost to myself, but its all i have to offer. Gary shakes my hand in his. "Talk to me."  I dont reply.  "Libby, talk to me." "What do you want me to say Gary?" I continue to stare ahead as Gary stops dead in the middle of an uncommonly vacant hospital car park. Its dark now, and i can only see a few feet ahead, a few feet into the foreboding, mournful, darkness of midnight. Foreboding and mournful darkness like the darkness hollowing me inside. I want to cry, but im out of tears. I want to sleep, but my mind is not tired. I want to sleep as much as i want to wake up, wake up from this tormenting nightmare. Wake up in my own ...

Chapter 37- Gary and Libby

"Lib.. Libby?.." Im lulled gently from my cocoon of comforting sleep. "Libby.." Reluctantly, my lids draw back to the unwelcome blade of sun slicing through the car window. I squint, confused. Oh. Yeah. "Lib.." Gary carries on, and im half aware hes helping me out of my seat belt. "Come on baby, we're here." I nod in answer, but dont move. I dont want to move. I dont want to ever have to move, because if i do, i know that i have to face up to the darkening reality which lies behind the cold, harsh and unwelcoming doors of Manchester Royal Infirmary. "Im scared." "I know baby, come on." Gary brings the back of my hand to his lips briefly in a comforting gesture before slipping out of the car. I watch in the rear-view mirror as he makes his way hurriedly round to my door and swings it open. I dont move. "Libby." Lowering my gaze, i begin to chip off flakes of the newly applied red nail varnish, flicking it d...
